What is iris photography?
Macrophotography that isolates the iris from the rest of the eye
With this type of photography, we capture an image of the iris’s structure. The iris is the colored and circular part of the eye that surrounds the pupil and is unique to each person, like a fingerprint.
The iris is unique to each person, like a fingerprint.
Iris photography is carried out with a specialized camera that uses infrared illumination to capture a detailed image of the iris pattern. The resulting image is used in biometric identification systems, such as physical or logical access security, as the iris pattern is highly individual and does not change throughout life.
Iris photography is also used in medicine to diagnose eye diseases and monitor them, as the iris pattern can reflect changes in eye health.
